Billy Flynn has always dreamed of flying, just like the birds he loves to draw. In 1970, his patriotism leads him to Vietnam, but a year later, he’s the only survivor of a devastating helicopter crash.
Wounded and lost, Billy returns home to upstate New York. His injuries have stolen his ability to draw, and his hearing loss has cut him off from the world he treasures. To make matters worse, the woman he loves has disappeared without a trace.
His younger sister, Nell, a brilliant student, is determined to help Billy reclaim his life. But can she save him before the weight of his past and the mystery of his lost love pull him under?
