Simonopio, the disfigured child she discovers, is both feared and revered by locals, seen by some as a devil’s child. But for landowners Francisco and Beatriz Morales, he becomes a miracle, and they raise him as their own. With an uncanny gift, Simonopio closes his eyes and sees visions of the future, glimpses both beautiful and foreboding.
