In the years after the smart drug revolution, anyone with a chemjet printer can create mind-altering substances. One such drug, Numinous, offers its users visions of God, and a dangerous sense of purpose. When a teenage girl using it as part of a predatory church’s sacrament takes her own life, the trail leads back to Lyda Rose.
Lyda carries the guilt of being one of the scientists who created Numinous. Haunted by an imaginary doctor and hunted by the consequences of her work, she teams up with an ex-government agent to track down the remaining members of her old team.
