Eight centuries earlier, in the same mountains, young Alais is entrusted by her father with a ring and a mysterious book. The book holds the secret of the true Grail, and the ring marks her as one of its guardians. As the crusading armies advance on Carcassonne, Alais must risk everything to protect the Grail’s secret.
