1348. The Black Death ravages Europe, leaving villages silent and corpses piled in the streets. Thomas, a disgraced knight with nothing left but shame, finds an orphan girl in one of the abandoned towns. Innocent, eerie, and unshaken, she insists the plague is only a prelude to something far worse: Lucifer’s angels have risen, and heaven itself is at war.
She claims the dead speak to her in dreams. She claims she has seen God’s messengers. Against his better judgment, Thomas agrees to guide her across a nightmare landscape of demons, depravity, and endless death.
What awaits in Avignon is a mission of salvation, or damnation. For Thomas, it could mean redemption—or the final fall of a world already drowning in darkness.
