About the book
Megan: How the hell did I end up here on a heavily wooded road in the middle of a racist county, all alone with nothing but my twisted mind for protection? After convincing the August Knights Motorcycle Club to allow me to work off a debt my sister owed them, I found myself in the middle of madness and mayhem. I should’ve known that this was what life inside this dangerous club would be like, right?
Aaron: How the hell did I end up here? I was face to face and chest to chest with the one woman I was forbidden to touch. Strange, sexy, inexplicably delicious, and just downright twisted events began to unfold when I met Megan. I can’t figure her out, but there is one thing she can’t hide—her attraction to me. When Megan wiggles her way into my life, I discover that her quiet, good-girl persona is a cloak she uses to hide the twisted mind she harbors. A mind just as bent as mine.

Our take
At a cliffside academy that forges students into weapons, a convicted killer searches for her sister’s murderer. In Shadebound, Jinx Draconis serves her sentence at Mors Academy while guarding her magicless brother and hunting the shadow stalking the halls. As rivalries ignite and forbidden attraction simmers, this dark fantasy academy romance delivers enemies to lovers tension, brutal training, and vengeance sharpened by prophecy.
Choose your retailer
About the book
Every killer needs a muse, and she happens to be his.
Jinx Draconis was sentenced to Mors Academy for a string of violent crimes she doesn’t regret.
Her only mistake? Not killing the right person.
Oh, and accidentally getting her magicless younger brother locked up with her.
Now she’s trapped in a brutal cliffside military prison disguised as a school.
Where magic is weaponized, students are wicked.
And each of them is being forged into a killer to fight the plague of monsters destroying their home world.
Jinx doesn’t want redemption. She doesn’t even care about surviving her sentence.
All she wants is revenge, and to protect the only sibling she has left.
And when students start turning up dead—murdered just like her twin sister—Jinx suspects the killer she meant to destroy might be trapped inside with her.
As if she didn’t have enough on her plate, some of the men haunting the halls come with baggage she swore she doesn't feel:
like her childhood sweetheart who told her he loved her, then disappeared without a word,
or the enemy born of a centuries-old blood feud who would rather bleed than smile,
and the masked man who watches her from the shadows and leaves her wanting more.
The prophecy says shadebounds always fall. That their power twists and breaks until there's nothing left.
But Jinx doesn’t care. If anything, she enjoys the prospect of being evil.
Because if she has to destroy herself to find her sister’s killer,
then she’ll happily drag this whole cursed place down with her.
Shadebound is the first book in a series following Jinx: a grumpy serial killer who has been sentenced to Mors Academy for her crimes. It follows her as she is trained, tortured, and turned into a soldier, so she can help fight against the magical plague that is ruining her homeland. Whilst at Mors, students start to get murdered by the same serial killer who slaughtered her twin. This story is gothic, hilarious, slow burn but then spicy, and thrilling. It follows Jinx as she seeks revenge, learns the secrets to her power, and deals with multiple emotionally damaged men who want to kill her, or love her (ew, feelings) that she will never have to choose between (groups builds over the story, this is a slow burn). Expect lots of fun tropes, in this Dark Academia, Enemies To Lovers, Slow Burn Romance, Fantasy Academy story.
For readers who love things like Ninth House, Zodiac Academy, Psycho Shifters, the brutal world of Dark Souls, a sprinkle of Helldivers monster slaying, and an FMC with the deadpan darkness of Wednesday Addams.

About the book
The devil craves my soul. It calls to him like the scent of fresh blood.
I am not afraid.
The night of summer solstice, I do something stupid. Drawn to the fire of magic, I approach the gods in their sacred circle. I am just a mortal, one of many. I shouldn’t merit their attention.
But behind the royal figures of the gods a shadow looms, menacing yellow eyes burning in its gloom. He asks me to dance. His clawed hands circle my waist, turning me to the sound of hoofbeats while his demonic voice whispers seductive lies in my ear. For one night, and one night only, I let him touch me.
When it’s morning and gods return to their shrines, he stays. His bloodthirsty shadow follows me, a dark cloak hiding me from the sun and the light of hope. Where I walk, flowers wither and children sicken, touched by his suffocating darkness.
The harder I chase him away, the more he enshrouds me in his powerful presence, his claws trapping my body, his will reaching for my soul.
He takes away my tribe and poisons my life, trying to break me so I take his deal. But the devil is in for a surprise.
I may give him my body, but I’ll never break. With nothing to lose, I am ready to fight.

Escaping with him is her only chance to bring Lark back to life - and also the start of all her troubles.
Because her new almost-ally is not just any man returned from death. Fire mage, rogue prince, and son of the man who killed her mother, sharp-tongued Durlain Averre is everything Thraga hates. But their quest turns into a deadly chase when Thraga's violent past catches up with her. And as the net of court intrigue and old fears closes around them, she begins to find out Lark was not at all the man she thought he was…

About the book
Perfect for fans of Fourth Wing, From Blood and Ash, and Throne of Glass, this romantasy debut delivers high-stakes adventure, slow-burn romance, and a heroine who refuses to be tamed.
She was forged for war—then sentenced to marriage.
Bound to a kingdom. Hunted by a prince. Marked by a monster.
For a thousand years, the Unseen Shield has protected Rhea Ashwood’s kingdom, trapping the Angel of Death and his demonic army beneath a shadowy dome. As a Guardian—one of the kingdom’s elite soldiers—Rhea has spent her life fighting the creatures that manage to break through. Among a male-dominated order, she serves in its rare all-female unit—disciplined, loyal, and bound to no one.
So when the King decrees that all eligible women, including her unit, must take part in the Ceremony—a forced marriage rite to “preserve the population”—Rhea is furious. Guardians have always been exempt. And she refuses to be bound to anyone, least of all the possessive Crown Prince.
In truth, Rhea has a far more pressing issue: Jove, her bonded partner and closest friend—long presumed dead inside the Shield—is alive. Worse still, the Angel of Death has marked her as the key to his escape. Crossing the Shield to save Jove could doom the very world she’s sworn to protect.
Desperate for answers, Rhea turns to Kol, a sharp-tongued exile from the Banished—descendants of those who once served the Angel himself. Kol is reckless, infuriating, and far too tempting to trust. And when the Crown Prince forces his way into their mission, Rhea’s carefully guarded heart begins to crack.
With war looming and her heart pulled in three directions, Rhea must make an impossible choice:
Rescue the boy who shares her soul…
Or risk everything for the one who threatens to claim it.

Patience, little puppet. The night is long, and we have just begun.
After the suspicious death of Jacapo, the well-loved toymaker, criminal investigator Valentine Anzio returns to his hometown of Minerva to help solve the suspected murder.
He’d hoped never to go back. Perhaps things have changed and the nightmares won't plague him. Perhaps Devere, the aloof and alluring toymaker’s son, won’t remember the kiss Valentine gave him all those years ago, and perhaps Valentine will keep the pieces of his fractured heart intact…
But it soon becomes clear, little has changed in Minerva. The powerful, handsome lord who’s paying Valentine desires more than the truth, and the toymaker’s son isn’t as guilty as the whole town appears to believe.
If truth, justice, and a second chance at a lost love are to prevail, Valentine must discover who killed Jacapo the toymaker, or the lonely, brilliant, and enchanting Devere, will hang.
The clock is ticking, and this time, a broken heart is the least of what Valentine stands to lose.

In Bend Her, a cursed beast mage must protect the princess fated to kill him.
Bend Her
Dark Romance · Romantasy
Our take
In Bend Her, a cursed beast mage must protect the princess fated to kill him. As Lisane learns dangerous magic under Rhaim’s brutal guidance, captivity becomes connection and fate tightens its grip. Pain, power, and desire entwine in this dark Beauty and the Beast fantasy romance from Cassie Alexander.
Choose your retailer
About the book
True Love Hurts the Most.
Bend Her: A Dark Beauty and the Beast Fantasy Romance is the story of Rhaim the All-Beast, a cruel beast mage doomed to die at the hands of the woman he must protect at all costs, and Lisane, the sheltered Princess of Tears, who has been given into his care and who needs him to teach her magic so she can be free—no matter how much it might hurt her.
The intro follows . . .
Lisane:
My whole life, I had been a creature used to candlelight.
But I wasn’t accustomed to my own breath hot against my face, or the rough feeling of fabric against my cheek—or knowing that my wrists were tied behind my back, painfully tight.
The last thing I could recall was being in a carriage…We’d been running away from the Deathless . . .
And now I was here.
Wherever here was.
Tied up, in the dark, on the ground, with a bag around my head.
The very thing my father had been afraid of for me for my whole life—and the reason I lived in a gilded cage, only getting to leave the palace when I had throne-sworn mages by my side—had apparently happened.
I had been kidnapped.
Rhaim the All-Beast:
Every mage gets one clear vision on the eve of their Ascension into their full powers, right before they get the brand of their mage-mark: you see the thing that will cause your absolute demise.
Some men see snowy peaks or waterfalls, others bucking horses, and some lucky few see themselves with old and wrinkled hands, passing peacefully in their sleep.
In all instances, we’re told, the reasoning behind the visions is the same: if you’re strong enough to be trusted with powers, then you must learn to accept the hand of fate, as surely as you’d earned it as your mage-mark.
You need to know, deep in your bones and now scarred on your skin, that while there are things in the world you can change with your powers, death comes for us all.
There is no amount of magic that can escape it.
And so, when a group of soldiers brought a bound and drugged woman to my doorstep, to bribe me to fight in their war, and pulled the bag off of her head and I saw her there—the woman from the vision at my Ascension, and who has haunted my dreams ever since—I knew it was the beginning of my end.
She had no idea who I was, or what we were to each other. She knew nothing about my fate or future with her, or how she was destined to kill me.
Which meant in the present . . . she was mine, to do with as I pleased.
And I wanted to see her crawling.

I’m your typical small-town loser stuck in a dead-end job. Single, because dating is for well-adjusted human beings, not traumatized gay boys with trust issues. All I want is to leave my past behind and finally start living.
My wish comes true in the most bizarre way imaginable. One evening, a beautiful man with pointy ears and flowing dark locks appears out of nowhere. He proclaims I am to be his ‘Dark Companion’ based on some stupid deal I made in a dream. Oh, and apparently he’s an elven prince, the Lord of Shadows, Protector of the Nightmare Realm and Knight of Grief Ocean.
Which is a weird way to ask me out, but okay.
It’s a hard no from me, but this absolute psycho abducts me to his palace in a moonlit realm populated by vicious beasts and backstabbing courtiers.
If I am to ever get back home, I need to adapt, because our full moon wedding is approaching fast. I can’t allow myself to buy into his seductive kisses, poet shirts made of spider silk and bouquets of sapphire roses. They hide poison and deception. A gilded cage is still a prison.
But…
What if I just never realized that what I need is a man with a cruel smile and a sword dipped in midnight? A man with secrets, and scars, and smoky eyes, and a past filled with darkness, and… have I mentioned he has a big d—
“Taken by the Lord of the Nocturne Court” is a standalone, scorching hot, dark gothic M/M romantasy filled with snark and dark humor, but also violence, peril, jealousy, and angst.

About the book
A STANDALONE gothic dark fantasy pirate romance re-telling of The Little Mermaid from the New York Times Bestselling Author of River of Shadows and Blood Orange.
Princess Maren is a woman with a secret.
When she was just 16-years old, she sold her soul to the sea witch Edonia, giving up a life underwater in exchange for the love of Prince Aerik on land. But after a decade of abuse and misery inflicted by the cruel prince, Maren wants nothing more than to leave him and her royal role behind and find Edonia to reverse the spell.
An opportunity for escape presents itself when the prince and princess are traveling overseas and are taken hostage by a band of notorious pirates, led by the fearsome Captain Ramsay "Bones" Battista. Maren has heard the sordid stories about the infamous pirate--not only is his ship supposedly haunted and crewed by the damned, but that no prisoners ever survive. Fortunately for Maren, she learns that the captain also has a score to settle with the sea witch. With any luck, Maren may be able to get her old life back, even if it's being held in the captain's wicked hands.
But Ramsay gets more than he bargained for when he learns who--and what--Maren is, and that her appetite for revenge, freedom, and bloodlust rivals his.
